what a load of sh1t not one thing for bf3

I do agree bf3 should have either beat MW3 or had some other reward but everything else seemed to fit correctly.

Portal 2 took them in too. Glad to see the voice acting won a lot there, and the writers should have also been rewarded. I don't know about best mutliplayer, but it was a great game. Heck, I would have been happy if it won GOTY, but Skyrim is deserving.

Huh? I have said it for a while now and I can't see how any other game could have taken top honors. SKYRIM!!! Game of the Year and maybe even Game of this Console Generation. BF3 and MW3 are good, but largely MP games and never win GOTY. I think Portal 2, Batman and Uncharted 3 were the only other games that could have come close. (also just my opinion as well).

Skyrim is spectacular and deserves GOTY for sure, but of the generation? Mass Effect.

And as for shooters in SP, I would put Crysis 2 up against anything. Just not a lot of people played it compared to the others. Panzer- have you played BF3 and MW3, or just sick of MW3 so assuming BF3 must be better?

I have the PC version of BF 3 and I have to say it gives the game more justice then the xbox version could currently achieve. With bigger teams and the ability to use chat systems like ventrillo, skype, mumble, or Team speak talking to your team is a breeze and makes the 4 man squads almost unnoticeable. I also decided to take a break from MW3 for two reason, I have no money for it, and I'm sick of playing a expansion pack. Right now my next big purchase is ME3 because I still have my old ME1 and ME2 collecting dust I will play the hell out of those games for a long time to come.

I have played both MW3 and BF3 and I must say that, as a game experience BF3 is a much better game. Both have their faults but overall BF3 is a better game in my opinion.

It doesn't matter to me what anyone else likes, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I wasn't trying to hijack the thread and make it a fanboyish MW3 vs. BF3 type thing, I was just wondering where Panzer's previous post had come from as I hadn't noticed him playing either. That being said, I think award shows like this are based much more on popularity than actual content. Then again, obscure movies come out of the wood work to win the Oscar and everyone is pissed the more popular ones don't win either.

Well, despite my personal opinion of MW3, I do think that it is the better MP game and probably deserves the award. For playing with friends, which is what MP games are really all about, it's hard to not give MW3 the nod.

I've been saying this since MW3 came out. I have both and I'm more impressed with the overall experience I get from playing BF3.

For infantry FPS, I prefer MW3 hands down. I do love the vehicle combat of BF3 though. I play both actively and feel MW3 has a more polished smooth style to the infantry combat. The multiplayer system is superior on MW3 as well. I'm amazed EA couldn't get their act together on that part. BF3 is still playable, but a pain in the ass for keeping a group together. If not for the jets and helicopters I wouldn't bother with BF3.

Skyrim was no surprise to me. Best game I've played since Oblivion.
