SitRep Pro or Dead Silence?

For those of you who have headphones and like to hear (or not hear) what is your opinion on each? I really do not like hearing my own footsteps, and would rather no one else hear them either so I put Dead Silence on as soon as I got it. But after having it, I missed the amplified sounds of the enemy from SitRep, not to mention the usefulness of seeing trapped crates, claymores, etc...

Which do you prefer and why?

Sitrep pro cancels out Dead silence pro. so I choose sitrep. Plus sitrep distinguishes enemy footsteps for teammates based on loudness. So seeing enemy explosives and kill streaks helps on top of hearing them coming around the corner. With my turtle beaches and sitrep pro, i can hear which way they are coming and pre-fire before they even step past the wall and kill them. I get yelled at for "hacking" but its not hacking. Dead silence pro does give you no fall damage but in reality how often are u jumping out of a building that you cant survive? just my thoughts

Good to know King. I haven't really played with either of these but I'll probably start working on Sitrep Pro ASAP to get those bonuses, which will probably help my lackluster play a lot.

I for one LOVE sit rep pro. As far as the footsteps of youreself goes, they are a bit more subdued yet when things go really quiet, i find myself gettin jumpy at the sound of my movement. However, i have noticed that there is alot of verticality to alot of the maps and alot of the surfaces are wooden sound. I can tell u that sit rep pro has probably saved my life almost as much as my gun. One other thing that may help ya decide is there are alot of air support called in so when a pavelow or hind comes in it almost makes the perk useless but thats a given im sure.

As far as dead silence, i havent tried it. So im pretty much gonna say what ever u feel more comfortable with is the best choice.

Yea, but that wasn't the question or the discussion I was looking for.

I like the sounds I get with SitRep, but I'm always afraid someone is going to hear me if I don't have dead silence as that is pretty much all I have used the past 2 years.

At the same time, your footsteps dont sound like theres with sitrep pro. a trick that I use is when I'm running around or what not when i hear the loud footsteps i crouch and crouch walk around corners n stuff to make it almost impossible for them to hear me. But like i said above, with sitrep pro its easier to prefire so it doesnt matter if they can hear you.
