Coop Impressions
Same warnings as before.
Played through coop with Coolhand yesterday and it was real work, even on normal. Great opportunity to unlock new weapons and win some achievements.
1. Must win missions 1 & 2 to unlock 3 and the same for 4 & 5 to unlock 6 - the final mission.
2. Even when you fail a mission, every time you play that mission you still gain points towards unlocking a new weapon which you can use in MP - it's cumulative. So, you can play coop missions over and over all day and unlock new weapons. We unlocked 4 by the time we finished.
3. Two missions clearly require the utmost in team cooperation and coordination - mission 2 (Helo) and mission 5 (sniper team). You cannot win without it. Although all missions require you to work closely as a team, these two missions absolutely depend on it. In the helo mission, fortunately CH could fly because I couldn't. So I depended upon his flying skills and he relied on me to gun effectively (and there are some nasty targets in this mission that can ruin a helo's day). But as he has already said, it is a good mission for training to fly the helo.
4. Mission 6 - the last mission - has a surprise and you will hate it.
5. Mission 4 was my favorite because it is CQB and intense. Lots of fun opportunities to use shotties and SMGs.
6. If you find a weapon with thermal KEEP IT!!
7. Remember - you must act as a team, call/spot your targets, work your sectors of fire, cover for your teammate, revive your teammate cautiously, use grenades liberally (and safely) and always double-tap your targets. Standard tactical stuff but often forgotten.
I look forward to playing some of the missions on Hard sometime - but I can play some of them on normal over and over all day.

Re: Coop Impressions
Sound like a lot of fun. I have to finish the SP, which I'll probably try to work on Thurs and Fri AM after I get off my two overnights. I'd love to play some co-op after that and I might be willing to play some on Hard with you Cav. Just curious, is the co-op 2p or can you have more teammates?

Re: Coop Impressions
Also, each coop mission has an achievement. I've been trying to get the one in 'Drop 'em like Liquid' which is also referred to as mission 5 above. It requires you to remain unnoticed the entire time, up until the hostage situation I believe. If anyone is willing to attempt with me let me know.

Yeah, Wonky and I were working on the co-op and got stuck on the chopper mission. We were getting a little rough with the chopper and just couldn't finish the mission.

Do you still get points if you don't finish?

Not sure, I wasn't paying attention when we bailed on it.

As I remember, yes, they are cumulative.
