Is there required practice?

I just joined, but I saw there are practice schedule in general forums.
Is there required attendance for GOW3? Because I'm more of a casual gamer and can't be on everyday.

Nope, no scheduled practice for Gears. Right now it's just get on when you can and have fun playing.

I missed this thread when it first dropped and was utterly confused until the "reds" pointed it out to me. Hope this helps.

Once the other big games drop we will select game commanders for them and they will set an official practice night. Attendance is recommended and a lot of fun but not an absolute requirement. We are realists and know real life comes first, but the practice nights will get everyone used to playing together and help especially when we get more competitive in them. Then again sometimes a quote practice night might be a clan tourney or other fun event. Stay tuned for an update on these scheduled nights soon. From experience FPS are often on Monday Tuesday or Wednesday around 8pm est, while Forza has been on alternating Thursdays, but like said above the GC sets the night and time. We try to keep from overlapping so players can be involved with all of them if they want. Competitive gamebattles matches are often held directly after a practice or any other day and time folks are available.

Whenever a game is selected a game commander, that GC may pick a practice night. When we have a structured team on Game Battles, then participation in the game is “mandatory” in the sense that the GC will be picking the players that show up for practice to be the first selected for a game battles clan match. Therefore, you could say attending practice is only mandatory if you wish to compete in clan matches on a regular basis.

Like Coolhand mentioned above, attending practices has several more benefits that just playing clan matches, so even if you don’t desire to play clan matches it would be worth your time to attend if you are available.

Echoing what Miller said, since the GameBattles rosters only have 24 spots for a particular game, showing up to practice regularly can mean the difference between making the GameBattles roster and being able to compete in clan matches or not. It can also mean the difference between keeping your roster spot and forfeiting it to a player that attends practice more regularly.

Of course, this really is only an issue if you are interested in competing in clan matches. If you're just up for some fun, these nights and time slots are just a good time to get on and play your favorite games with your brothers.

I'd say the most important thing to do if you want to get involved is to send out invites whenever you're on. When I first joined a few guys would 'invite the new guy' but when people are running games it's easy to go 'oh I bet he's already busy/with a group'. So if you ever want to play, send out some invites, or a message saying 'inv' will usually do the trick too.
