Yup, looks like it will be great. What's interesting is in the non 9/10 reviews the only problems they have is that the single player has a 'been there done that feel', but even those reviews say the MP is fantastic, and only hardcore gears haters won't enjoy it.

i have always hated the MP but love the co op
all payed off on this game so cant wait to play it

This looks FANTASTIC! I hope that my wife is getting this as an anniversary gift for me, cuz I'd hate to wait a week after release date for my anniversary and find out that she didn't get it for me and I could have been playing all week. Also, did I see a lambent berserker in one of those videos, cuz a regular berzerker isn't enough of a pain. The 4 player co-op is going to make for an epic good time and I really need to play some horde, cuz that seems pretty cool too.

Picked my ish up at midnight...but only played for an hour before passing out...looks and plays great though...

So after buying the game yesterday I jumped into some mp with som of the guys and was trying to figure out how this game is different and better than previous gears games like many of you were claiming. To me it seemed to be more of the same. Actually felt more like gears 1 mp than gears 2. Horde mode was fun like it has been. I did enjoy that and I am sure I will love the story. But mp seemed more of the same with a bit less focus on power weapons but they still own the game.

Ahhh...I'm disappointed OC. Give it a few rounds bro...try to be openminded as I was during the beta. I'm telling you, it was hard to find anyone that HATED the MP on the last two games more than me!! But after logging a few hours in the beta (and learning where things were coming from) it became second nature and dare I say "easy" for a noob like me to pwn and unlock the weapons and stuff. I enjoyed it and sure I will on the full release.

Give it more chances....

It's still the same game though. So if for some reason you really just hate gears mp, that probably will not change. It's more like they removed the problems, improved on the good points, and did a great job balancing everything out. Adding new features like kickback when you jump over almonds cover, more choices in starting weapon, and more map interactivity are just a few points that make it better.

and the shotgun are still very OP

but agreed if you do not like the MP in gears 1/2 you wont like this one

I wouldn't say they're op. Any goo teams will use hammerburst/ lancer 90% of the time until they will be super close range. Ive been lolling all day at noobs using the shotgun mid range.

Well, that's my point about the beta (there were enough things to make it feel fresh and new) but at the same time maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance on the last two full releases. Now it seems cool.

The last two were start...meet in the middle...chainsaw, rinse and repeat! This one (maybe it was the maps?) made it feel more like a COD map in the sense that you know the spawn points, but this time it's not just run down the stairs-- turn the corner-- and boom.

Not sure if my point is clear, but it's just "different" to me somehow.

Played thru campaign solo on normal. As in all the GoWs, I enjoyed the story and SP. Haven't tried coop or horde but looking to do both, especially going thru coop campaign at a higher difficulty level. So far, I'm a level 6 in stats just by what I did (although I have no idea what it means to me.)

Found MP in the Beta was more enjoyable than previous GoWs so I will probably play MP to see what it is like. I ordered the DLC subscription for $30 when I picked up my game so I'm looking forward to seeing what is coming.

Campaign is long - 31 "engagements" given the number of Acts and Chapters per Act. But they kept it mixed up by taking you to several new places so it held my attention (even after several JD Honeys). Cut scenes were fun as always with some interesting back stories.

I'll be playing this for a while.

Exactly...it's just "different" than before somehow. And if it wasn't fun I'd say so, as I did with the first two (repeatedly) but I really think this one will be fine. Can't wait until Saturday!! Only day I'm close to a Games Stop before it closes

Found myself free with 2 hrs to spare before GS closed on Friday. Needless to say rushed over and grabbed a copy. Been playing all night and this morning before chores called away my presence. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!

Only a few KOTH matches on MP so far, but having a good time. I like to run through SP myself for awhile before playing with others, but would like to have a group on Horde and Beast if anyone is free tonight or tomorrow.

I plan on being online klown. Drop me an invite.
