Leak of next DLC pack

I am looking forward to the DLC but I really wish it was less money. $15 really is ridiculous. If the last Zombie map wasn't sooo d@mn good I would be considering NOT getting this. Oh well.

I play too many different games and don't have enough time to get DLC for Blops anymore.

A promotional (but blurry) flyer for what appears to be the third DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops has jumped the gun on any official announcement and made its way onto the internet.

Judging from the screenshot, which made its way onto an unofficial Black Ops forum, the map pack - rumoured to be titled Retaliation - looks like it's sticking to the established formula: four competitive maps and one zombies map.

The post also claims that the map pack will be released on June 28, although the cropped image does not show the date.

The flyer, which appears to be originating from US retailer GameStop, shows that the competitive maps are titled Hangar 18, Hazard, Silo, and Drive-In.

Silo is reported to have already been spotted by eagle-eyed players in the Black Ops source code.

The fifth map - for Zombies mode - is shown, but the blurry photo means you can't make out the text.

We've approached Activision for clarification.

If true, the Retaliation map pack will be released a few weeks before the Call of Duty: Elite beta, which begins on July 14. Over two million people have already applied to take part in the Elite beta.

What a surprise then that Activision has confirmed the coming of the Annihilation map pack with a press release listing the launch date as June 28. The information that slipped out yesterday is indeed accurate, and our four new multiplayer maps will be called Hangar 18, Drive-In, Silo and Hazard. The new zombie map, which went unnamed in yesterday’s image, has been confirmed to be called Shangri-La. No price is listed, but you can almost certainly expect it to fall at 1200 MS Points (also known as $15).

The pack will arrive on Xbox Live first, as part of Activision’s ongoing partnership with Microsoft. The release of the map pack will be accompanied by a double XP weekend, starting July 1. No word on the PC or PlayStation 3 release, as has become the standard, but you can probably start expecting to hear more information on other versions a month or so after the initial release.

The press release offers little in the detail beyond a statement from Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia that is specific to the new zombies map: “Players will also enjoy an all-new Zombies experience, Shangri-La, an exotic and mysterious map filled with deadly traps, dark secrets and innovative gameplay that will challenge even the most daring Zombie hunters.”

Sounds awesome. Probably not the moonbase setting that some fans have been expecting, but any excuse to grind up more zombies with a death machine is a good thing indeed. Let the speculation begin now on new boss zombies and weapons!

Well, there goes my $15. d@mn you Tryarch!!! (and especially Activision which is pure evil) Stop making good stuff so I can boycott you.

Tryarch does stay on top of thier game with patches and DLC. I will be getting this for sure, and it will hopefully breathe new life into COD.

yay i am not 99.99% done with this game and they bring out new dlc only plus side to double xp is that i get double cod points so i can buy more gold camo . i only have 11 guns with gold camo thats only what 550,000 cod points =)
