Forza 3 Car help
So I'm a little behind in things and have only been playing Forza 3 for about a month and I've got a question about the car info screen that I can't seem to find an answer for online. When you look at a car's details, it lists the class, PI, drive type and then a number in a circle. I'm trying to figure out what the circled number is. I've seen them range from 0 - 2, but I have no idea what they mean and I can't seem to find any help. I'm sure there's someone in the clan that knows what this means and I was hoping they could pass that info on.
Also, I wanted to thank Glock for the C-class he donated to me. I've been using that car and kind of deconstructing it with some online tuning calculators to build my on C-class. I appreciate the pointers he offered to me on building my own cars and if anyone else has any pointers they'd like to share they would be much appreciated. Also, the tuning calculator I'm using is the Forza Mortorsport 3 Car Setup Tool http://www.forzatraders.com/flash/ForzaMotorsport3CarSetupTool.swf I'm not sure if this is a decent or crappy calculator, but when I was researching calculators this one kept coming up.
I look forward to trading paint with anyone that's looking for a race. Most of the time I'm on the game I'm tweaking and painting my cars; occasionally stopping to race when I need more money for new parts or cars. Happy racing!

Re: Forza 3 Car help
That's a good starting point calculator. Any tuning calculator is really just something that gets you an ok tune. What I did in forza 2 when I used those was:
Tuning calculator to general tune
Test on my test track (I chose 1 track that I always test every car on, so I know exactly how to race it and can get a good idea of how the car handles. I use mugello club personally. Short enough to see lap times, but enough curves and straights to judge a car)

etc, etc, etc

Re: Forza 3 Car help
Thanks for the advice. I was getting to the point of starting to tweak the car some on my own. I'll have to try that track out for my testing.

Re: Forza 3 Car help
The number you are referring to is the car's XP. It fills a bar when you win a race. It starts at 0 and eventually fills to 5. There is no advantage to this number and it does not effect the performance. With every level to get discounts on parts for that car etc... but otherwise is totally useless.

Gotcha, I knew the cars and drivers gained levels, I just didn't realize it listed the car level in the info. Thanks for the explanation.

Yup, I believe interseptor also uses it. It's a good idea too because when your test track comes up in tournies you have a better understanding of the track. I usually finish 2nd-4th but if I don't win on mugello it usually means I wrecked somewhere.

I'll have to find a track like that for a "home court".

Re: Forza 3 Car help
I personally use an app for my iPhone called forzatune, I think it cost between $0.99-$1.99. It has a tune calc and a gearing calc. I have a descent amount of money so if you post a vinyl or something in your store front for 50,000 I will buy it to help you get some more money.

Re: Forza 3 Car help
KnightOwl - I've got some items posted on my storefront for the Mitsubishi Eclipse C-class that I've been playing with. I posted the tuning and design and I've also created my "Sockpuppet Motorsports" logo vinyl group. All of them are available and someone thought the logo was neat enough to download it already. It's pretty simple, but it's a start.

Re: Forza 3 Car help
It's a reference to what happened when Atrum last raced Mugello in a tourney...

Re: Forza 3 Car help
Gotcha. I just found a free Forza app in the Droid Marketplace that works just as well as the Forza Motorsport 3 Car Setup Tool and it's free. When I reconfigured my car using the Droid app the car benchmarked and raced almost as though there were no changes. The app is: ForzaDroid.
