Lost a Ipod Touch!

So my wife takes my Daughter, God Daughter and two friends of the family...little girls to the pool. None of them including my wife can swim so I became the designated Lifeguard. So the girls sit at the edge of the pool wading with their feet in the water. My God Daughter all of a sudden leans forward as to fall headfirst, not reaching for anything like kids do, just out of nowhere falls headlong into the pool in front of me, within full view! I leaped out of the chair I was sitting in, mind you I was in my jeans and T-Shirt with sandals on. Some how my sandals stayed put, my Cell Phone and Ipod Touch that was sitting on my lap hit the ground running as you could understand why. Oh yeah in a puddle of water...So I leaped like a gazelle landing perfectly on the steps of the shallow end of the pool, Pulling my God Daughter out of the water on short order. Pants wet, Ipod wet but working still then slowly begins it's demise, water seeping slowly into it's little crevices shutting it down to a slow death. First the touch screen function goes, then it just goes black. 400 Dollars down the drain. It isn't that much of a disappointment because of saving my God Daughter...much more Important! But the good thing that came out of it other than the obvious is now I have a reason and excuse to get an Ipad 2...and it's going to happen too! lol I should have it by the end of next week.

Moral of the story, if you really want a new toy or gadget GO SWIMMING! lol jk

Who needs a replacement iPod when the man can get a iPad2? No way anyone can say anything either...infact the mom of your God daughter should offer to buy it. I would if you saved my daughter.

Can't fit an iPad in your pocket....unless you're really fat.

Great job rt! Nice save! You can try this and it might work , bury the iPod in either kitty litter or white rice in a air tight container for about 48 hrs and it might dry it out.

ok so here it goes. Good news first, I purchased a Black 32 gig, wifi, 3g ipad 2 today. Bad news I will not get it until the 11th next month...I'm a happy camper tho. I had to buy it straight from Apple because everywhere is sold out!

What part of putting wet electronics in some dry rice sounds weird? I have used this trick to dry out my peice of motherfuckingshit black berry numerous times. The rice is absorbent and draws the moisture out of the device. I don't know why it wouldn't work, unless you smashed something when it fell...

Well, if you try to power it on when it's still wet it can fry the electronics and then it is kaput. If you dry it out thoroughly using rice or whatever other method you prefer, they can be saved... sometimes. Regardless, he is getting an iPad 2 so it's all good.

Yeah, I think it's fried because I couldn't turn it off before the water got into the inside...the touch screen wasn't responding...I tried but couldn't get it to work. I do have a Ipad 2 64gig wifi only coming from apple... = Win! I have thought of maybe finding some Broken Ipods for sale out there for parts and resurrecting it that way if possible. I can't wait for my Ipad tho..bigger screen for my books, netflix...I'm gonna have to buy a bib so my drool doesn't kill this thing too.
