Premier Homefront Tournament 4/11/11
Premier Homefront Tournament
Date: April 11th, 2011
Time: 8:00PM Eastern, 7:00PM Central, 6:00PM Mountain, 5:00PM Pacific
Teams: 2 game officers will be team captains; team assignments will be random
Mode: Ground Control
Maps: Random
Scoring: 1 point per round win
Prize 1: Winning team members will get an Official Trophy for the forums
Prize 2: One random member of the winning team will be awarded 1600 M$ points
Welcome to Homefront's first S7 Tournament! This event is open to all S7 members This event is MANDATORY for all S7 members so be there! In case of a tie we will play one extra map in its entirety with no time limit. Homefront gives us the ability to bring up to 16 players into a public lobby, and coordinated team play will outweigh any one player's individual skill. With our talented players operating together as a well oiled machine, we will be unstoppable. This tournament will focus on team strategy for capturing and holding positions above simple KDR. Everyone has a shot at winning the prizes, whether you are hanging back camping defending a point, piloting drones and vehicles, or rushing the forward positions. I hope to see you all there!

Was a lot of fun and was down to the wire even on the last map. Look forward to the next tourny. Both teams did an awesome job working together and keeping pressure on each other.

Re: Premier Homefront Tournament 4/11/11
Thanks everyone who showed - I had a lot of fun and hope you did too!
We started with 10 but 2 mysteriously dropped after the first map, so we scrubbed it and restarted with new teams. Played Ground Control which is best suited to much larger teams, but it was interesting how people used the vehicles to get to the cap points quickly. Maybe next time if we are that short on players we will do deathmatch which has smaller maps better suited for small teams. Oh well, live and learn, it was still very competitive and fun.
Team KPA
Wonky (leader)
AirborneT
Air7Cav
Coolhand
Team USA
Atrum (leader)
KnightOwl
OC
Sticky
Her are the results (format KPA-USA):
Lowlands 2-0 KPA
Crossroads 0-2 USA
Angel Island 2-1 KPA
Green Zone 2-1 KPA
Farm 1-2 USA
Cul-De-Sac 1-2 USA
Tie game so we moved to a tie breaker...
Suburb 2-1 KPA
Final:
KPA 10 --- USA 9
Trophy:
Random drawing:
Coolhand and Wonky were DQed from winning as game officers.
Air7Cav wins the 1600 M$ points but graciously donates the prize for a later tournament. The M$ code will be deposited with the CC for later alotment.
Congrats to the winners and thanks again to everyone for making this event such a great time!

Tourney was a blast. I randomly had a crazy killing spree at the very end of the tiebreaker and almost had the point captured but someone had a clutch nade. Very fun.

Re: Premier Homefront Tournament 4/11/11
Congrats to all who played!! My first win in a tourney as either being on the winning team or winning a prize!!! Two-fer!! Lots of fun and good games. I usually don't play tournaments but I did enjoy this one given how close it all was -- that's what made is fun ... not being lopsided.
Congrats to CoolH for putting on the tourney!
(Unc - Drinking or playing in a tourney -- tough choice. LOL)
Now as I stroll back into tourney retirement ... Eat it bit#$es!!!
