Prestige

I was just wondering what everyone’s plan on prestiging was this time around? I think I am only going to do the first one like I have the last two times (WAW, MW2). I like too many of the upper items (Commando) to only have them 1/20th of the time. Also, who all plans on going all the way to the 15th Prestige?

I'm not sure I am going to at all. I really regretted doing it in MW2. Why should I prestige again? What do you gain, if anything?

If I somehow end up with some extra spare time, then yes. Solely for the extra class slots. Most likely no.

With the whole money system, I won't be because I don't want to buy all the stuff over again and start reinvesting in guns.

How many credits does it take to pestige? I just hit level 50 last night, and want to try some things out before taking the plunge. I just want to be able to hit prestige as soon as it's avaliable.

I thought someone said 50,000...

it take no credits at all to prestige .. how ever once you prestige you lose all your money so buy all the layer emblems and cards you can as yes they will be locked till you reach the lvl you need to be to unlock them but once you do you wont have to pay for them again...

also to get on the prestige leaderboards you need to prestige and then pay 50,000 credits and you have to do so every prestige its not a one time buy
so unless i have a crap load of credit i wont be doing that ever prestige

Oh, so that's the 50K. Thanks for the info. Seeing as I most likely will only do the one prestige, I might ust buy my way onto the leaderboards when I get the credits.

I didn't get to play but about 2 games yesterday, so I haven't prestiged yet. I have about 60K in credits, so I will be stocking up on emblems and backgrounds. I figure I should buy all the basic shapes, as I can always use them to create about anything I would want.

I think I will prestige the one time to get an extra slot and access to some of the "prestige" only stuff like the leader boards.

Still on the fence, and due to my busy holiday schedule I am still a ways off but I still don't really see the appeal and I don't see any real benefit. Leaderboards, extra slots and new pictures? Is that all you get for prestiging? And the trade off is that you lose all your money, guns, perks, upgrades etc...

I guess the leaderbord is nice and I would like to have access to that but otherwise, I just don't know. Fortunately I am like lvl 18 or something so I still have a ways to go.

I'll prestige the combat training, as you can level up uber fast in there.

Turns out you can't anyway, you just stay at 50. Think i'll do a grind tomorrow and level up enough to get S&D and the other fun game types. I'm bored of domination already and i've never been a fan of TDM. I prefer round-based games, or at least an objective.

Definately going to get as far as I can. Already prestiged once. I made it to 7 on MW2 and that was when I was in the Marine Corps and couldn't play for a solid three months. The only thing that will be holding me back on BO is the fact that my console burned a scratch on my disc so now it freezes alot. I'm going to try to get a free replacement from Activision.

If you can borrow someone's disc and install it to the Hard drive, the scratch will not matter. As long as the 360 can recognize the disc in the tray as Black Ops, it will play fine. That is what I have to do with MW2.

You could also just go to your neighborhood video game rental store and pick up a working copy and put in on our hard drive.

I've said no before, and still done it. This time I may only do it once...seriously....ONCE!

Big negative ghost rider for me, I'll be a chump and stay at 50 , when I get there I don't wanna lose all my stuff , getting some of the pro perks takes awhile and most of the guns kinda blow until you get around 30 and I really want the commando
