EA MMA - October 19th

AWFUL... absolutely AWFUL...

play the demo... i am a UFC fanboy (No secret there)...
BUT... i gave this a legit chance to impress me... and it failed...

The Control are at awkward... wanna throw a kick to the body?
LT + RB + Wiggle the RS for the kind you wanna throw... WTF
But Takedowns are instant.. just hit A

Wanna stop a takedown?
You have .1 seconds to hit B or you're on your back in half guard

Even the XY= Punches & AB Kicks controls are just clumsy... the character models lag between inputs and actions...


The fighters look good until you cut one... its unrealistic and just plain ugly... (and glitchy as hell... i know a demo but still every fight had something glitch all crazy)


As for the choice of fighters in the demo...
Middleweight
- Jake Shields (who has since signed with the UFC)
- Jason "Mayhem" Miller

Heavyweight
Allistar Overeem (Strikeforce HW Champ)
Bobby Lashley (Former Pro Wrestler with below average skills at best)

No Fedor? No Couture?
just about the only reason casual fans would even go for this game...

The problem also... clearly all fighters have generic AI...
Jake Shields is a wrestler and BBJ Black Belt...
IE. Miller should keep the fight standing more than likely...
Not shoot for endless takedowns and get submitted in seconds...

Submission System -
Ummm i shouldnt be able to takedown someone and submit them 10 seconds into a fight... even on easy...


Overall... Pre-order canceled... Gamefly list removed...
Pass (or at least play the demo... then ask for that part of your life back)

You expected a game with EA as its main producer to be good, all you need to know is if its made by EA it sucks if its made by someone working with EA it usually sucks (Unless your Bio ware ).
