PSN to start charging

Knew the day was coming. Seems it will offer some things. I'll stay silver so to speak. I'm on my iPhone or I would C&P. The article I read is on Arstechnica.com. Can we say copying xBox. It's 50$ a year or 17.99 for 3 months. Looks like there going to bring back twisted metal also which would be sweet but I rather buy it and not pay 50$ or whatever to play it. Basically some free games, access to demos, betas. Thirdparty exclusives. Just read the article. I'm sure I'm not the only one who missed E3. I know they annouced it there.

Keep in mind the free games aren't yours to play if your not a member.

lame, but only becasue I rarely play my PS3 but when I have it has been for MP games. Are they going to charge for MP service or just "extras".

As far as PSN...they would need to improve their network before charging for it. This is definitely a wrong move for Sony. XBL owns when it comes to online console play. Everything is easy--from setting up matches, to communication, to changing your gamer tag. The Playstation and PSN is just a pain.

The PSN as you know and love it will remain exactly the same. The free service is completely unchanged. You can still chat, play games etc... for free. The PSN+ service will allow members who pay early access to demo's, free arcade games, faster updates, and beta access for upcoming games.
