Invasion...

I discovered on saturday that in 2011 there's a distinct possibility I will be coming to the U.S. of A for a good ol' while to do some youth football coaching and also, some networking with the big tech companies. Soooo, if this comes to fruition, i'll likely be in LA or Florida (there's other places too, but that's where i'm thinking...) and then i'll be taking my wages and doing a little road trip...where you'll all be providing free accommodation.

So, basically, i'd be coming over with a friend who also does the coaching but the trip would be instead of doing my Masters year at uni, which i'm not too fussed about as i'd probably be served just as well by the extra time spent building a portfolio and talking to some people over in silicone valley, as well as a few game dev studios.

What do you guys think? How is life in America? What things would I NEED to do/see whilst over?

Well if your going to Florida you could try and tour a Game Developing company possibly learn something new or just hand with UC

Come to LA, I guarantee you'll love it. Girls, beaches, great weather year-round (also meaning year-round sports), concerts, movie premieres and other similar events, clubs, good food, Dodgers and Lakers....where do I stop?

Personally, if you have a nice place set up in a good part of town, maybe something like UCLA housing if you're planning on continuing college over here, go with that. Otherwise, maybe think about a little further north or south. It's an hour drive from my house to both LA and San Diego, 10 minutes to the beach, 10 minutes to the Blizzard headquarters, an hour and a half to Palm Springs, and four hours to Vegas....plus I'm sure you've seen how amazingly awesome we Orange County people are from the super realistic soap operas and reality shows Tech is huge down here also. Don't get me wrong, I love LA, I just couldn't live there again with the d@mn traffic.

Florida is a great choice. We've got beaches, tons ofmgirls, theme parks, amazing weather, and no earthquakes or wildfires. You'll completely miss hurricane season. Me, UC, and Pharoah are down here, and threes several place to road trip to.

I actually might visit your side of the pond next year. I have fam visiting from Brighton in a few weeks, and we'll prolly visit them next summer, as well as making our way up to Edinburgh to see the bulk of my Mom's side of the fam. You're in LDN, right?

If you do go to Cali instead of Fla, I'm sure we'll have a west coast or at the very least min-west gathering next year.

Nah, i'm not in London. Term-time i'm in Lincoln (the corn-free English one) and then during the rest of the year i'm in Barnsley, which is about an 90 mins east of Manchester.

I'd imagine i'll visit Washington, never really wanted to Punch Vman though. Might have to scour the US for Paige.... can't remember where she lived though... =\

I dunno. Boston > NYC IMO. But I can't say much about NYC, I was only there for a few hours, I was in Boston for 2 days.

Well, I don't really know whats in Boston, apart from a bunch of Irish sports bars. I can just hop on a 45 minute plane if I want to visit Irish bars.

What does Boston offer?
