fantasy football

I know we still have 2 months or so to go but do you guys put together a league? If not I could run one and whoever would be active and want to play is welcome to join.

We usually do set one up.

My brother is a HUGE Cowboys fan.  I feel bad for him every year.  Of course he's used to the letdowns since he's a Cubs fan too, lol.

I feel back for you because I'm a Chiefs fan then I remember how sh1tty our franchise is lol.

Look for miller to start a league in about a month and coolhand will probably run one too.

I'll post up here when I create a league, just be sure to join fast. I like 8 man leagues with small rosters, so everyone plays everyone twice and there are always good players on the wire (plus it makes it hard to know who to drop). Normally I'll run two leagues- one live draft and one auto-draft.

Just a suggestion to any one starting a league consider starting it on Espn.com because with the Xbox one integration it would be a cool thing.

I went ahaead and recreated the Yahoo league (it was as simple as clicking on renew) for the live draft version. It's only 8 teams, so first come first serve, with the initial invites sent out ot last years participants. The live draft is set for Sunday evening, Sept. 1st, which is the weekend between the last preseason game and the start of the season (you should have a good idea of injuries and starting line-ups by then.). I'll look at setting up an ESPN one too, so we can track it with the Xbox One app.

I also recreated the auto-draft league on Yahoo in the event we want to run that one too.

If you haven't played my leagues before, there are only 8 teams. You have one QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, one WR/TE slot, a Kicker, and a Team Defense. I also only have 5 players on the bench. Few teams and a small bench mean there are always some decent players out there on the waiver wire. This keeps it competitive all year long, as big injuries don't necessarily mean your team is shot. Also 8 teams means you play everyone twice, and the the top 4 go to the playoffs with the FF season ending before the regular football season reaches it's last week (so you are not stuck with subs or players only playing half a game because their season is essentially over or they are resting their stars for the playoffs.). I guess I have been playing Fantasy Football for 20 years now, and this is the best I have found for a fun and competitive system the entire season.

OK- I went ahead and created an ESPN league, and there system is much better than when I used it way back in the day. You didn't have all the customizable options before in their free league, but now you can pretty much set it up however you want. I created another 8 team league- so if you are getting the Xbox One and want to try the ESPN integration, let me know if you are interested and want to play a live draft or an auto draft (I would like to set the live draft for the same weekend of Sept. 1st, most likely Sunday night as that seems to be a good time for everyone to be home).

I signed up for both Yahoo leagues.  Since I've already got two teams and I'm probably going PS4 I won't take a slot in the ESPN league.

Probably won't have the kid to sleep by then, but I've got my pre-draft rankings set.  If she goes down easy tonight, I'll try to make the draft.  No promises, cuz we're just starting her bath and then she still has to have her bottle before bed and she's sick so she's really struggling with sleep the last couple days.

However, I'll probably be on for COD or poker (still have to finish downloading it) later, again, depending upon how easily she goes to sleep tonight.

Managed to catch a good chunk of the draft and I'm fairly happy with my team.  Might need to make some changes on my bench to be able to cover bye weeks but there should be more than enough players to do the job.
