Looks like we'll have a MOBA (think Dota and LoL) for consoles soon. And on top of that it's LotR themed!
Main points from that article:
-Only for consoles, as download.
-No single target abilities. All will be circle, line, cone, etc. Pull abilities will lock on to any champs in that area. Apparently it was all but impossible to play with single targeting on a console.
-No in-game item house. Sooo... no customization in game. You get a 'gem belt' that you customize before the game that unlocks as you level up. I kind of assume you'll get gold that just auto unlocks stuff on here. So basically you pick your entire build pre-game. Rock-paper-scissors.
-Upgradeable towers. Not many details, but you can upgrade towers to have more hp, damage, have a healing radius, etc.
-Will be 5v5

Re: Guardians of Middle Earth
I saw the trailer for this game. Gimli apparently ues Mjölnir as his weapon of choice. I have had some mixed reactions to the trailer because you could see that it was LotR, but it also didn't feel like it. I don't know, there have been some LotR game flops, so we'll see what happens to this one.

Yeah, IDK how well a moba will play on console. Then again I had a blast playing halo wars and battle for middle earth, and I definitely didn't think RTS would work well on console.

I loved Halo Wars. Great game. I'll keep an eye on this one too.

Yeah, when I saw the RTS genre being put onto a console, I was pretty sure that it wasn't going to go too well, but they actually work. I still prefer to play the RTS genre on a PC versus a console because I feel like I have more control, better micro/macro.

That's why I think the changes (no in game item house, no single unit attacks, etc) will either make or break this game. Definitely something to keep an eye on.

I'd love to see somebody try and play Console SC2.

Marines rely on micro. You'd have to max out and make sure your production was all queued to the max.
You could probably play 'Toss fairly well. Just turtle with a deathball...it's the only choice really because Forcefields are going to be a b1tch in open terrain. It's hard enough as it is [to do them well].
I think a MOBA should work fairly well though...
LS = Move
RS = Aim Skill Shots
A, B, X, Y replace QWER
RB, LB = Specials
RT = Fire Skill Shot
LT = Use Item (selectable with d-pad)
That said, you'd still need the ability to set your char off to a destination whilst you panned the camera around the arena. Maybe use 'back' as a toggle and re-assign the ABXY to other functions when in that mode....?
My talents are clearly wasted as a Web Developer...

My thought is why was it so hard to implement an in game item house?
Bring up store menu - LB
Have a circle with the categories (Magic, Defense, Attack, etc)
A button to bring up the items in the category
Have another circle menu with all the items.
It would take no time at all to buy items.

You could just do something with proximity. Even bringing up a traditional LoL style menu wouldn't be hard to navigate with the RS/d-pad and the ABXY buttons. Truth be told, I could probably do that just as fast as I could with my keyboard and mouse - and I'm pretty d@mn good with a mouse.

Exactly. Seems a little silly to leave it out, not silly enough to dismiss trying the game though.

No, I'm fast and precise. It comes partly from SC2 and partly from going through coding all day.

I claim nothing and play no PC games. My score was 50.

I think I could get 80 if I spent a bit longer on it.
You got any moving ones, those are much more fun.

I'll have to plug in the mouse on the laptop and try out that test. I'm a lot better with a real mouse vs the pad on the laptop.
