Re: Apex R3 Open Track Night - June 20th
Yeah... I haven't even messed with the tuning. I sort of saw that and was like "what the fuuuuuhhhh". So I decided that I would look at that once I learned how to take turns a little better lol. I felt so sorry for everyone when the races would start with me starting in first place... because they would have to worry about passing me up as my current drving style is... highly unpredictable?
I thought it was funny that one time where I tried to slow down WAY too late on a u-turn and I looked for a gap between Interceptor and the person in front so that I could zoom through and crash into a wall without taking anyone out of the race lol. Yeah... I'd say that about 70% of the crashes during those races were because of me, oops!

Everyone starts somewhere. I'm still one of the least skilled un our group, but I have fun trying. Hope to see you at the event tonight.

Nothing. Coolhand was mistaken. The event is the A-Class Tourney and it is next week. May 10, 2012.

Yeah I've been playing Forza (3 and 4) for like a year with the guys and I still can't tune a spectacular car but like Coolhand I still try.

One of these weeks I'll actually get to make one of these but this week I work 2p-11p so I won't be on my box until like 11:30-midnight (possibly by 11p if the boss closes with me). Have fun and I'll see you knuckleheads at the tourney.

Won't get better without practice. Besides, I'd rather you hit people tonight in the random public room than tomorrow night at the official A-Class Tourney.

yeah... I'm pretty sure I won't be attending the tourney because I really wouldn't want to screw people over there. The whole tuning thing still baffles me and have no idea where to start lol.

Yeah, I could use someone else at the back of the bus to trade paint with. OC and I usually scratch it out for hind teat but we could always use some new blood. And like the guys said, you only get better by racing. Troll the Forza 3 and 4 threads and you'll find all sorts of links to site and programs for tuning, how to pick good racing lines, and all sorts of stuff that doesn't make sense until you try it over and over again. I kinda understand some of that stuff, mainly from just tinkering with the game.
Besides, most of the fun comes from creating a sweet paint for your cars to show off. Sometimes I have a car that has a super sweet paint that I use only for the post tourney picture because the car didn't do as well as others or the tracks that I use it on didn't come up.
All in all, the guys are pretty cool and understand that new drivers (or sh1tty drivers like me) need some leeway and they're pretty good about giving it. Not to mention if you have a car that you want to try out many times the guys are willing to tune them for you and get you set to race. The first tourney car that I had and used in a race was a gift from Glock and from that I was able to kind of reverse engineer the car and start to learn how things work.

Re: Apex R3 Open Track Night - June 20th
A rather surprising turnout last night. For a couple races we had a full grid with minimal and I mean MINIMAL contact. S7 had a good time trying out each others A class cars/builds on various tracks.
OC put together an extremely stable and well rounded AWD tune
Coolhand's 355 was low slung and very predictable which made it easy to push, turn, brake and drift at will.
Interceptor's 360 felt solid and almost self guiding around some corners.
My NSX is still tail happy which requires a 'hair-trigger' type throttle control.
Good run fellas. See you all tonight at the A tourney.

Re: Apex R3 Open Track Night - June 20th
I will leave that up to you guys. I did not post anything on the Forza forum, so the public is not "expecting" the race night yet.
Re: Apex R3 Open Track Night - June 20th
Looks like I have a high chance that I'll be on to wreck people tonight. I was gonna ditch Forza tonight for Diablo 3 because I was hoping it would arrive today, but judging from the tracking information, it doesn't look like it'll get here today. Although you never know, maybe it just has a problem updating its status. If you don't see me on, then I'm playing Diablo.

Not sure if I'll be around tonight or not. If I am on, I should be on racing. If not, we'll just meet up next week.

Well... I didn't have Diablo, but I had other matters to attend to so I couldn't make it to the races.

Yeah no one was on to race so I didn't get on and start a room. I was watching the Celtics playoff game
