I can haz DiRT 3?

Well, my copy came about three hours ago, so I managed to remove F1 2010 out of the disc tray and spend some time on DiRT.

First impressions are great. I'm playing it on intermediate (basically Forza settings) and the actual rallies are tough. Some more so than others. The head to heads are generally fairly close too, though there has been a few races that i've just dominated.

I think the key to this game is definitely the throttle control and getting a feel for traction. That said, knowing the tracks well is definitely important as I found out...



You're definitely going to have to push the envelope for each and every race. Racing fast and staying on the track will only get you 3rd/4th. To win you'll need make the most of every corner. You need masses of car control as it's so easy to spin out on the corners.




Even making tiny steering corrections can put you into a tree, so remember to let off on the revs a little can be important at high speeds. Same goes for the exits of corners. Apply too much, too soon and you'll end up with fails like this...



The realism feels great though and game is VERY fun to play and gives you a great feeling when you nail a corner perfectly.

Career mode is split into four seasons, with a few separate parts to each and so far, it is really enjoyable.

The gymkhana playgrounds are sweet too. I can see myself spending many an hour getting some nice replays from them...

So yeah, those are my impressions so far...

The game just gets better and better. I just unlocked Gymkhana Academy. Cba to play though, it's red hot here that steering wheel is hard work.

I must say...it looks pretty cool. Might just pick it up this afternoon. The gamestop by the office always has mega copies of everything so I should be able to get it.

I have a friend that got it so I'll try it out and see if it can keep me away from mk9

I am sure the game is awesome but that clip was pretty lame. Definitely not OMG! worthy. 8 sec of driving on a dirt road at normal speed?

Also - Screw both you and Epic for playing this while I am stuck at work. You guys suck!!!

rofl hard to do anything epic when your in 1st but the driving is alot harder then forza for sure
