F1 2010 - Any interest?

This game looks to be one of the best racers out there and definitely the closest thing to a sim you'll find on a console.

I personally, have not been this excited for a game for years, so, was wondering if anyone else would be picking it up or renting.

If you haven't seen it, here's a little gameplay clip to whet your whistle...

i plan on getting it... not the biggest F1 fan in the world... but i really enjoy watching races that end up in the rain etc.

Monaco in the rain is going to be crazy.

Yeah, they've had a test driver in throughout development getting all the handling and physics nailed down, there's tyre wear, track changes (i.e. more grip as more rubber goes down) dynamic weather, you can change stuff on your car whilst driving (rev setting, front wing angle, etc.), damage, punctures, amazing AI, all kinds of stuff.

If you're comfortably winning races on the hardest setting, then you should be racing for real. Hell, until you progress to one of the top teams, even getting in the points will be like a victory. That's one of the things i'm so excited about. Finally, AI that drives well, defends, etc. Also, unlike Forza, they will make mistakes without you behind them to pressure them. You'll have to find a corner that they're weak on or get in the slipstream on a straight to overtake them. It's going to be awesome.

I bet it's going to feel weird as hell when I first play the new Silverstone layout, having played the old one on Forza thousands of times...literally.

Looks pretty cool...not sure it's going to "out sell" Forza even if it is infact better. But overtaking @1:36 was classic! Also getting that beast up to 180 on a wet track scary I'm sure.

Not much for F1 so I'll have to wait and see.

Not sure how well it will sell, though, F1 is massive in Asia, so it could do well, plus it's multi platform and it's been getting 9/10's so far in reviews.

Monaco in the wet is going to take some mad driving skills....

Hopefully there'll be a demo out for ya Zak, I know they said there wouldn't be a pre-release one but i'd imagine they'll bring one out soon enough. If not, could be worth a rental/gamefly/whatever.

According to who? I played the demo and enjoyed it a lot more than my FIFA 09.

Some of the reviews i've read. That said, I heard OPM gave it 10/10, soooo.....

Had the game for a day now. It is amazing! Graphics are immense, especially Monaco, the weather system is awesome, the AI is great and the car handling is incredible. I'll be playing this one for a long, long time.

d@mn F1 sounds tempting and I probably would have switched to that instead of FIFA if what you said earlier was true. BUT the game is sitting at at 94 on Metacritic even before the 100/100 OPM and 94/100 GamesMaster reviews have come in. Love the Personality+ and better passing system, no way I can pass FIFA up.

Just wait and get it cheap (F1) it'll have a pretty hardcore online community, so there'll always be multiplayer...not that it's needed because the AI is so good.

I wonder if there is a demo out?

I haven't heard anything about one but it is Codemasters and there's been demo's for GRiD and DiRT... i'll drop the dev a tweet and ask...might get a response..who knows, lol?
