Elder Scrolls Online Now Free-to-Play
As of 17th March, MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online no longer requires a monthly subscription to play. As Bethesda had previously announced, the game has become The Elder Scrolls: Tamriel Unlimited, and requires only a purchase of the game, with no further subscription fees required.
was only a matter of time for it to go free to play on pc

It's not free to play though. You still have to buy the game.

I don't know what the extent of the DLC in the "crown store" is, but it looks like you'll need to purchase "DLC" to have access to quests, areas, etc. that you would not have access to otherwise. Basically you don't have to pay a monthly fee now, but you'll be missing out on certain portions of the game unless you pay for the DLC packs or pay for a monthly subscription. I believe Star Wars adopted the same model when it went free to play.

If you don't pay the sub fee then you'll have to purchase DLC content separately from the main game.
Here are the benefits if you decide you want to pay the subscription still...

Re: Elder Scrolls Online Now Free-to-Play
I reinstalled and rolled a new character. I've seen a lot of good changes since I played when it launched. I'll figure things out as I go with regards to crowns, DLC, etc. No harm in playing a game I already own with no sub fee.

I've seen a lot of people doing this and they've pretty much all been very impressed with the current game vs. when they last played. Look forward to see what you think.

I'll add you Bonz. I randomly chose AD this time around too. Granted at this point I'm just noob wandering and checking stuff out since I haven't played since launch.

Re: Elder Scrolls Online Now Free-to-Play
I've been playing a little bit over the past couple of days. Not enough to really make comments regarding changes.
So far it's been fun. I basically load it up when I don't feel like playing league or if I'm bored at work (lol).

I feel the same. re rolled yet another AD toon and I honestly don't feel like anything has changed about it. I rather play new games like heroes of the storm.

How are you liking HOTS? I play LoL daily and follow LCS so I'm big into mobas (played DOTA back in the day too). It seems like a nice fun/casual version of LoL. That's not a bad thing at all, might be a great game to take a break and play
