Tribes Ascend

Seeing as how you fellows seem like some old school gamers I thought there might be a decent chance some of you played old school tribes back in the day. If you haven't seen/heard or given it a shot yet the free to play Tribes Ascend is actually quite good. It takes a lot of the environment and physics of the old school games and gives it a play style more like an arena shooter, sort of UT2K4/Quake-esque. Worth checking out.

I played quite a bit in the beta, and then a whole lot when it first came out. Now I'm usually pretty stuck on League.

You sound like all my buddies, it is an argument every night, they want to play LoL and I want to play a shooter. :\

The latest update implemented a party system, so it makes joining up with your friends a bit easier.

after all tribes was one of my favorites back in the day. Loved the open environment and stuff

Yeah, it's a freemium game, you can get everything for free, but it is faster to pay for it. I play for free.
