Wall mount tv/component shelves.
So I'm still not back in my house after a minor remodel but I am very close. I plan to change my setup and mount my tv on the wall and was wondering if any of you have done any wall mounts for component shelfs? This is what I've been looking at getting.

What would I have on the shelds?-Xbox,cable box, potentially stereo reciever but that may weight to much for this. Just trying to make my setup cleaner and less cluttered.

Here's what I did a couple years ago. Did the wall mount and then a small cabinet below when a paintable cable hide.

Re: Wall mount tv/component shelves.
I personally think it looks better to just have the tv mounted on the wall with all the components on a shelf at floor level. Of course I run wires in walls for a living so it is easier to me than most, and that might be why I like it better because I know how much trouble it is to fish a couple of HDMI cables and power wires up inside a wall.

Yea although for most things/people running cables through the wall could be not so safe. I'm really trying to keep things off the floor so it can be keep clean easier and I really like the look of the wall shelfs. I will probably also go with the cable hide track.

Re: Wall mount tv/component shelves.
I'm not very DIY so that's why I went the hide route. And they come in different base colors that can be painted, as well as you can cut them down to any size. We chose the stand at the bottom because we used to keep out Blu-rays in the cabinets, although now with our daughter we've had to pull those so component shelves might not have been a better route to go.
I changed from a Comcast box to an AT&T box and back to a Comcast box over the 3 years and its pretty easy to pop off the cover and switch the cables. I'd assume it would be just as easy as running them thru the wall, once the initial holes are made.

Yea I'd imaging with wall shelfs you'd have issue with a child. That's not an issue for me right now.

Re: Wall mount tv/component shelves.
Ended up going with a different wall mount. I bought a full motion swivel mount. And some different shelves.

I'll post up some pics after I get it all set up
