How Diamond Division Works PSA With FAQ Empty How Diamond Division Works PSA With FAQ

Post by S7 KnightOwl Wed Jan 21, 2015 3:20 am

Diamond division is very different from the other divisions. Below I have listed some differences in divisions and strategies.

Diamond Division

  • Clan wars are now during a specific 4 hour window of time
  • Clan wars will typically be 2-3 days
  • All nodes will start off each day of the war occupied by a neutral, you must knock the neutral off before capping the node
  • You now earn what I call "Over Night Points", At the end of each diamond round there will be a CP bonus for each node held that is equal to its starting value. Same as last year
  • Banked points carry over from day to day

Strategy Differences

  • Its not all about how many people you have and more about being efficient
  • Holding nodes going into the off time is crucial, to the point of playing defense and padding nodes at the end of each day.
  • Roster gets very strict
  • Banking points while a node is open will help capture that node faster, either later in the time block or even the next day.

I know a lot of you have not competed in diamond division before. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Call of Duty® Clan Wars: Diamond Division Leaderboards

With the introduction of Diamond Division for Clan Wars in Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare, Clans will be able to directly compare their performance against that of others who have made their way into the top flight. At the end of each Diamond Division Clan War, all Clans will be awarded points based on their accomplishments during the war.

As long as your Clan gains at least 1 Clan Point (CP) during a Diamond Division Clan War, your placement will determine the prizing you may be eligible for.

Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare Clan Wars Rules and FAQ

General

In Clan Wars you fight for control of a map by playing multiplayer games of different types (modes) in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
Each war takes place in a different location, with different modes. If you don't see your favorite mode, don't worry; it will probably show up in a future war.

Nodes and Capture Points

The map has up to 8 strategic locations or nodes, each which corresponds to a given game mode. Each node has a number of wins required to capture it, as well as a Capture Point (CP) reward for the capturing clan. For example the airport might be tied to Team Deathmatch (TDM), require 20 wins to capture and award 16 CP to the clan that captures it.

In order to capture a node your clan must score the number of wins listed on that node before any other clan scores that many wins. You can see your progress towards that goal by tapping on a node.

Once a node is captured by a clan, the clan that captured it becomes the defending clan for that node and is rewarded with the node's CP value.
The node's CP value is decreased by 2 with each capture down to a minimum of 2, but goes up by 1 for every two hours it is held.

Defending a Node

When a node is captured, it immediately gains defenses equal to the number of wins required to capture the node. All other clans' progress towards the node freezes and instead their wins decrease the node's defenses by 1 for every win they get.

As the defending clan scores wins they increase their defenses up to a max that is equal to 30% above the wins required to capture the node initially. Any wins by the defending team that would exceed the max of the node are discarded.

Once the defending clan's defenses are reduced to zero by the other clans' wins, the node becomes neutral once more. The defending clan's wins in that mode are set to zero when they lose control of the node.

At this point, the race is on to be the next clan to reach the required wins to capture the node. Any previous progress your clan had scored will remain, so if you were close to capturing the node before the last clan did, you will still be close.

The primary strategy of Clan Wars is deciding which nodes to attack or defend to gain the most CP, given the actions (and likely actions) of all other participants in the war.

The clan with the most CP at the end of the war wins the war.

The war leaderboard shows your clan's current position in CP.

Primary Target

Clan leaders can set a primary target to help coordinate their clan by tapping on the node and choosing 'Set Primary Target'. Setting the primary target is only a visual indicator that your clan members can see and does not affect the war in any way.

Hold Bonuses

Holding a node awards 1 bonus cp for every 2 consecutive hours you hold the node. Each time a hold bonus is applied, the CP value for the node goes up by 1. The max CP value for any node is twice its starting value at the beginning of the war. The minimum CP value for any node is 2.

Clan Wars occurs in real time and the map is updated as each clan scores wins. Sometimes another clan may post wins on a node you were just about to capture. This happens. All matches are processed in order. Due to the unpredictability of the internet matches may appear anywhere from 1 minute after completion to as much as 10 minutes after completion.

Modes that appear in Clan Wars:

Team Deathmatch (TDM), Domination (Dom), Kill Confirmed (KC), Uplink, Capture the Flag (CTF), Hardpoint, Search & Rescue (S&R), Search & Destroy (S&D), Hardcore TDM (HC TDM), Hardcore Dom (HC DOM), Hardcore KC (HC KC) & Hardcore S&D (HC S&D)

Modes/Playlists that will not appear in Clan Wars:

Momentum, Moshpits, Groundwar

Rewards

Most of the Clan Wars gear is earned by winning a war in Gold division or above. Some gear may be awarded based on other criteria.
Clan XP is earned for winning or placing highly in Clan Wars, increasing with division and placement.

Awards typically take up to 72 hours after the war completes to be given out. This time is needed to review the war for fair play and issue the appropriate rewards. Not all awards are given at the same time, so it is possible for someone you know to get something you'll get the following day.

Centurion Gear

Exo – 1 win in Gold or above
Shin Guards – 2 wins in Gold or above
Pants – 3 wins in Gold or above
Loadout – 4 wins in Gold or above
Helmet – 5 wins in Gold or above
Gloves – To be announced
Boots – To be announced
Shirt – To be announced

Divisions

Clan Wars is divided into 5 Divisions: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum & Diamond.

The four primary divisions (Bronze-Platinum) compete in the same war.

Clans are only matchmade against clans of the same division.

New clans are placed in Bronze and advanced based on their performance in Clan Wars.

Winning a war (coming in first), guarantees that you will advance to at least the next higher tier, e.g. Bronze to Silver, or Silver to Gold.

Coming in 2nd or 3rd will prevent you from dropping divisions.

Scoring zero CP in a war will return you to Bronze division.

After the above parameters are taken into consideration, the total amount of CP you earn in a war will determine your division in the following war. The top 25% of cp earners are advanced to Platinum, the next 25% of earners are placed in Gold, the next 25% are placed in Silver, and the bottom 25% are placed in Bronze. Clans are placed in the higher division between this placement and the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd placement rules above.

This means it is possible to advance from Bronze to Platinum in one war. It is also possible to fall from Platinum to Bronze if you earn 0 CP in a war.
Details on Diamond Division will be released shortly. Clans must be invited to the Diamond Division and may accept or decline their invite at their discretion.

Rosters & Roster Locks

Clan Wars allows clans of three or more members to compete in a clan war.

Most clans prefer to have all of their members eligible to participate in the war and therefore do not adjust the roster setting from its default of automatic.
The automatic setting will matchmake your clan using your total population against other clans of a similar roster size.

Clans that desire to adjust their active roster size can select to participate in either a larger or lower population war. They do this by selecting the population bucket size they would like to be matchmade against in the clan management section of the clan profile.

Rosters are typically locked 24 hours prior to the start of the Clan War. Some circumstances may cause this time to change so watch @beachheadstudio for updates.
Once rosters are locked, the active roster size can not be adjusted and you will be matchmade at whatever size you've selected.

If a large clan selects a small roster bucket, their total number of active players can never exceed the bucket limit they are matchmade into.

For example if a 100 player clan selects to be matchmade against 15 person clans, only 15 of their 100 members will ever count towards the war.

At the time of matchmaking, every clan is assigned a number of active roster slots equal to the max of the population bucket they were matchmade into.

Once the war starts, as a clan member plays and wins a match they will be assigned to one of the available roster slots for their clan and their wins will count for the duration of the war. Once all of the active slots are taken, no other clan member's wins will count towards the war. This feature prevents large clans from rotating in members, and prevents small clans from recruiting extra players to attempt to overwhelm their opponents. In any given war it is not possible for more than the max number of players in that bucket to contribute wins to any clan.

To assist larger clans who have members who may not be available for a given war we will be incorporating functionality to allow clan leaders to 'bench' some of their members.

Benched members can not contribute wins to the war and will therefore not take up one of the active roster slots if they happen to play a game during the war.
Once a war begins, Clan Leaders will no longer be able to bench a player.

Clan leaders can unbench a player at any time, but may not rebench them after the war has begun.

Any clan member who earns a win after a war has started and is not currently benched will take one of the active roster slots, and will be marked active in the app.
Any wins by a benched player, or by any player that is not able to fill an active slot (because the clan has already reached the bucket limit for active players) will be discarded.

Pausing a War

While we'd love to never pause a war, there are circumstances that require pausing on occasion.
Pausing is done primarily to maintain a fair & level playing field.

Depending on the reason and duration of a pause it is possible that matches will continue to be counted during the pause, or discarded during the pause.
Stay tuned to @beachheadstudio during any pause to learn up to the minute details on whether matches will count and any estimation on the duration of the pause.

Cheating

We get numerous reports of suspected cheating every war. We take these reports very seriously. However, owing to the efficacy of our bots, the vast majority of these reports, once investigated, turn out not to be cheating.

Most clans that make reports suspect opponents of cheating when they see rapid movement on the play field.

Having observed and investigated many reports, we can assure you that it is very possible to capture a node from zero to 30 or 50 or 100 in a matter of a few minutes.
Please remember that the Call of Duty® community is filled with avid players, many of whom are organized into hardcore clans that often run multiple 6 man groups at a time and rack up seemingly unbelievable wins through focused coordinated play. This is especially true in the Platinum & Diamond divisions.

We run active cheat detection in many forms both in real-time and after a war. The nature of these measures will not be disclosed.

If you witness actual cheating please report it in-game and to @atviassist.

Any clan found to be cheating is subject to penalties commensurate with their behavior. This may vary from a warning to disqualification to an outright ban.

No clan is above the law. We've disqualified clans at the very top of the leaderboard before. Don't cheat, someone will notice and it is very likely that you will take your friends down with you. It isn't worth it.

Behavior which is not allowed:

• Having clan members play on the opposing side of a match.
• Playing with the intent to lose.
• Having people forfeit to you to try to get quick wins.
• Using any method to disclose the locations or behaviors of the enemy which is not part of the game.
• Using any in-game cheats that alter the fair play of the match.

CALL OF DUTY® CLAN WARS: SEASON 2 CHANGES

Following an incredible start, we’re happy to announce Clan Wars Season 2 for Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare! Thanks to the community’s active participation and constructive feedback, we’re making significant changes to Clan Wars for the second season, affecting both the Bronze through Platinum and Diamond divisions.

Bronze – Platinum Division Updates

Bonus In-Game Multiplayer XP

To better reward Clans for participating in Clan Wars, we’re changing the way that XP bonuses work. Now, when you capture a node that grants an in-game XP bonus for a specific game mode, you get to keep those XP bonuses for at least 72 hours after that Clan War concludes. This will help your whole Clan push up the Prestige ranks!

Bracket

We’ve revamped the bracketing system to be clearer, simpler, and to provide more flexibility in matchmaking. The current brackets are being reduced to the following 5 options:

Lightweight: 3-4 members
Bantamweight: 5-10 members
Middleweight: 11-19 members
Heavyweight: 20-45 members
Juggernaut: 46-70 members

As always, you can either select your bracket within the Call of Duty app, or, if you don’t select a bracket, we will automatically select the proper one based on your unbenched Clan size.

Matchmaking for a clan will only ever occur within their bracket. Matchmaking within brackets will attempt to match clans of approximately the same population size where feasible.

Diamond Division Updates

Bonus In-Game Multiplayer XP

As in Bronze-Platinum, the bonus XP modifier that your Clan earns for capturing a node will persist for that game mode for at least 72 hours after the end of the war.

Matchmaking

In Diamond Division, we will be using a new matching system to ensure that each war contains a broad competitive spectrum of Diamond Division Clans. Our intent is to replicate more of the flavor and energy of Battle Royale wars, and make each war meaningful.

We intend on matchmaking Clans with very similar sizes inside each bracket, and also create matches containing a spectrum of Clan achievement; for example, two Clans from the top 3rd of a group, two Clans from the middle 3rd, and two Clans from the bottom 3rd. This will mix established, accomplished Clans with younger, hungrier Clans that want to headhunt the leaders, claim the prizes and make a name for themselves.

We will also more aggressively cut inactive Clans from matchmaking. Clans that do not play Diamond Division will have to re-qualify to enter again.

Diamond Points

It’s our intention for the highest placed Diamond Division Clans to reach the top of the leaderboard by seeking out the toughest competitors and defeating them in battle.

Starting with Season 2, Diamond Division leaderboard point calculation will be changing significantly. In Season 1, the Diamond Point incentives were frequently aligned so that Clans were rewarded for being matchmade into inactive wars against poor competition.

In Season 2, we are inverting those incentives. We will be granting points to Clans based heavily on the strength of their competition, including the activity level of their war, and success gained against higher ranked Clans. We will discuss details of these systems at a later time.

Brackets

We are simplifying and consolidating the brackets in order to reduce confusion and improve our matchmaking flexibility.

As in the Bronze-Platinum divisions, we are simplifying the brackets down to five:

Lightweight: 3-4 members
Bantamweight: 5-10 members
Middleweight: 11-19 members
Heavyweight: 20-45 members
Juggernaut: 46-70 members

Clans will be matchmade only inside their own bracket. We will attempt to matchmake clans so that each war contains Clans of the same size.

We are additionally separating out the leaderboards into these bracket sizes, and removing the ‘all’ leaderboard.

Clans may only earn Diamond Points towards a particular bracket. Clans that change brackets will start their new bracket with zero Diamond Points. Our intent is that a Clan will choose their bracket for the season, and stick with it, so that its progress is comparable with its peers for the entire duration of the season. This should improve the integrity of the final rankings.

Thanks for a great first season, and we look forward to Season 2!

Diamond Division Season 2 Scoring Changes
Posted by ClanWarsNews in Call of Duty Clan Wars on Apr 29, 2015 11:07:32 AM
Season 2 of Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare Clan Wars begins this Friday, May 1st, and along with it we’re introducing some changes to the scoring system for Diamond Division Clans. In Season 2, it takes more than just placing 1st to earn the most amount of Diamond Division leaderboard points as possible. Clans must not only place well, but also actively assert their dominance throughout the fight.

Position Points

Placing well is still your primary means of earning Diamond Points, with the following point totals being awarded for places 1-7.

[th]Position[/th][th]Points[/th]
180
265
350
435
525
615
710

Objective Points

In Season 2, Clans can earn up to 21 Diamond Points through completing certain objectives, as follows:

[th]Criteria[/th][th]Points[/th]
Hold a node at the end of a round1 per node (capped at 6 points)
First node capture in the Clan War2
Neutralize a node from someone who is of a higher seed than you (be the Clan that does the most damage)*2 per node (capped at 8 points)
Have the most active player in a war (the player with the most wins)5
*Please note that this bonus will not be active for the Paris Clan War on May 1st. It will be active for the following Clan War.

Activity Bonus

Clan Wars with high activity, as determined by total wins throughout the entire Clan War, can offer addition Diamond Points. If the war your clan is engaged in is among the top X% of active Clan Wars, you will receive the bonus listed below:

[th]% Scale[/th][th]Points[/th]
Top 10%10
11-20%8
21-30%6
31-40%4
41-50%2

High Stakes

Lastly, Clans will be awarded for intentionally targeting Clans of a higher seed, to encourage newer Clans to fight for top place right out of the gate.

[th]Criteria[/th][th]Points[/th]
Beat Clans seeded above you*12 (capped at 24 points)
*Please note that this bonus will not be active for the Paris Clan War on May 1st. It will be active for the following Clan War.

Diamond Division Leaderboard Reset

With a new season comes a new leaderboard. As a reminder, the Diamond Division leaderboard has been reset going into the Paris Clan War. Every Clan starts on the same footing, but only the best will rise to the top.

Furthermore, earned Diamond Division points apply only to the bracket they were earned in. If your Clan earns 100 points in the Lightweight bracket, you will accumulate 100 points on the Lightweight leaderboard only. There is no global Diamond Division leaderboard for Season 2.

Brackets for Season 2 are as follows:

Bantamweight: 3-4 members
Lightweight: 5-10 members
Middleweight: 11-19 members
Heavyweight: 20-45 members
Juggernaut: 46-70 members

Good luck!

I have competed in Diamond division before. You just need people to be on. The leader and co-leader should always be checking the App to make sure we are using are people efficiently. Good luck to everyone! We got this.

Diamond Division Season 2 Scoring Changes

Good luck!
