Looking for a new car

@SG: I glanced at a black Edge sport and it was a pretty vehicle but it wasn't going to be in our price range so all I did was glance.

@Droopy: Everything I read agrees with what you say, that a car that smells of cigarette smoke can lose up to 1/3 of it's trade value.  I'll have to punch the car into KBB and see what the trade value is and then check to see how that value compares to what they're charging.  As for the financing, my credit will qualify me for a rate around the 2.9% so I'm good with the used and being able to get a little more car (with some miles) for less.

I also used cars.com app and found a similar vehicle at similar price and told the sales man that x dealer was gonna sale me the car at x price but I that car wasn't really the color I wanted and that dealership was farther away from my house so service would be more of a pain in the ass for me

We ended up going with the Equinox.  I almost backed out and told them I could get another $1500 for my trade and they ended up splitting the difference with me.  Ended up getting 2.74% financing and GAP insurance and was still in our price range.  

The thing I'm so teemed about is that the dealer has a special premium package for all their CPO buyers that gets you unlimited free car detailing (with appointment), they'll pick your car up from your house for the detailing or other work, free oil changes and tire rotations for first 2 years, and $19.99 oil changes for life of vehicle after the 2 years.   I think there's some other stuff with the plan too but that's the stuff I like most.  Also, the "bomb" killed the cig smoke smell (don't know if that's permanent) and now the car has a new car smell.  All in all were pretty happy and I appreciate all the help that everyone offered.
