Re: Anime Discussion
Finished Akame Ga Kill. I feel like it started strong and ended a bit weak. The final quarter of the anime felt a bit rushed and events didn't feel like they had as much of an impact as they did for the first half of the anime. I think if they had a few more episodes to work with, then I would have enjoyed the last stretch a bit more. Final fight was pretty cool though. Overall like the anime.

I agree with everything above. Apparently, the final quarter is where they diverged from the Manga, which is still going. It sounds like another case of the original Full Metal Alchemist. Still, it was solid and enjoyable.Xpert2010 wrote:Finished Akame Ga Kill. I feel like it started strong and ended a bit weak. Re: Anime Discussion
**SPOILER**
if you haven't already seen all the Naruto Episodes, which most probably have.
Naruto just finished off the last "Pain" I couldn't understand why they made the final battle so cartoonish. It was all epic and then bam, oblonged bodies and faces. Lol either way it was a good saga.

Re: Anime Discussion
2 months and no posts?!?!?!!!!
Here us my update. I watched almost nothing as far as anime goes until last month. I finally caved in and bought a crunchroll sub and have dived back into one of my favorite animes, SAO. Didn't even know they made new episodes until I was browsing the queue and then snap signed up for a sub.
So I just started what feels like part 2 of the second half of SAO2 if that makes sense lol.
SPOILER START
They saved ALO with the help of Thor and are Kirito got his sword.
SPOILER END
I really like the GGO stuff and even the Excalibur stuff was good. Even tho it is once again moving away from what makes it really interesting.
Where should I go from here? I started the Persona 4 Golden anime and was very disappointed. Was thinking about World Trigger, but there are so many options idk what to pick!!

Re: Anime Discussion
Parasyte -the maxim- : This one has a bit of gore, but is a pretty awesome/intriguing show so far. Definitely recommend.
No Game No Life : Only 1 season done, but a very cool show. If you like SAO you'll enjoy this one. The first 5 minutes are weird, give it a full ep and you'll enjoy.
Akame Ga Kill : Epic series that just finished, relatively short. Great action, neat story. Be warned, they have no fear of killing characters.
Log Horizon : Similar idea to SAO. Player stuck in a game. Very different take on the idea as they just adapt to living in a game world. And they don't die if killed in the game.

Re: Anime Discussion
Hunter X Hunter 2011 is at the top of my anime list, so I'd recommend that if you haven't watched it yet. I already watched through it at least three times already and the anime ended not too long ago and there's like... 140 episodes haha. Really want Blu Rays of this to come to the West... but don't see any signs of that happening soon unfortunately I am getting the soundtracks though, should be getting them sometime next week.

Re: Anime Discussion
I'm still working on Naruto! Have been for about 2 years now lol OK so i don't watch it every day is why. But i started at the very beginning of 100 that led up to shippuden and what not to get a background.
I started one called frozen vibrations (I think the english version is called "freezing"). after the first episode i stopped, not really in to the Hentai type scenes. I saw a quick battle clip and thought it was cool.
Fairy Tail- decent but nothing super amazing for me yet, i've watched about 10 episodes, seems to be the same things, same powers, etc.
Fate/Zero- Still pretty cool, just confusing at times if you aren't paying attention.
Deadman Wonderland- pretty cool story, awesome fight scenes and abilities.
Legendary Heroes- good fight scenes, awesome powers, cool story line.

Re: Anime Discussion
Akame ga Kill is pretty good. I liked the first 2/3 of the series partly because it had a shock factor, but the final third was really predictable and I didn't find myself enjoying the show much. The final third does stray from the path of the manga, so that could be why it felt different suddenly even when I've never even read the manga.
Bit of a status update:
I think the only anime I'm keeping up with now are Naruto and One Piece. Naruto had entered into another filler phase (when does it not?). I've regained interest in One Piece as it looks like it's getting to the climax of the Dressrosa Arc. I just hate how the intro for each episode takes up like... 7 minutes!
Been re-watching Bleach.
Never finished SAO2 because I lost interest after Excalibur. Also stopped watching Fairy Tail and Log Horizon for the time being.

Are you watching Parasyte? It's a good one.
I'd say out of all the ones I keep up with, the 3 I'm most excited for each week
- Parasyte
- Kurokos Basketball (Finally back!)
- Ace of Diamond / One Piece

Re: Anime Discussion
I started watching the first ep of Rage of Bahamut, mainly because I obsessively played the card game on my phone. It seemed lame, I'll have to give it a couple episodes it sounds like.
Overall summary of thread: Watch Parasyte.

Also, is anyone else keeping up on Kurokos Basketball? [Kuroko no Basketball]
If you are, the latest episode was just insane/awesome. Highly recommend.
Any of you anime regulars, definitely watch it. Especially if you've ever played basketball.

Re: Anime Discussion
So Parasyte -the maxim- finally wrapped up today. Very, very well done series. Lots of action all the way up to the last ep, and good solid ending that fit the story. Definitely recommend anyway that hasn't watched it yet do so.
I've also just recently finished up Tokyo Ghoul. Pretty awesome show with a lot of action. I'll probably read the manga as I've heard good things about it. Here's a sweet piano cover of the Tokyo Ghoul intro (watch to 30seconds and later, it gets ridiculous)
