Guild Wars 2

Ill post my information after I get the client fully updated.

Well I can't create an account unless I have a working beta key apparently (which none of the 5 keys I have work). Unless theres another way to create an account, it looks like I'll have to wait for release day.

Preorder the game, and install the client (They email it to you).
If you preorder you get the game 3 days early (which happens to be saturday).

Tis what happened (happened a couple months ago btw):
Did pre-order the game, did get a code, didn't work.
Sent out an email, got another code, didn't work.
Sent out another email, got another code, didn't work.
Sent out ANOTHER email, got ANOTHER code, didn't work.
Sent one last email because I was getting tired of it, got another code, also didn't work.
so yeah...

I would say you're doing something wrong.

PS: I'm not talking about the beta in any way. If you pre-order you get you're activation key, that lets you install and get the game prepped for launch day. Sounds to me like you're using that key to try to get in to the beta client.

I just went to the actual guild wars 2 site and got the digital preorder.

yeah, I was there to pick up a game and I figured I might as well pre-order Guild Wars 2 and Halo 4 while I was there.

Good choices. I have Halo 4 reserved. Like I said, you don't get penalized for cancelling pre-orders. Might as well get everything setup on your PC now. It's a big game (around 25G)

Maybe the installation would be faster if I had the physical copy... I thought that the game would be that big, so if I were to download all of that, it would literally take ages with my download speed, and everyone else in the household would have to suffer slow internet because I have a download going on for a week. Really the reason why I bought the physical copy.

brother stays up at night because he currently on break from school, so he probably wouldn't be too happy with lag. I'm in bed 4-5 hours before he goes to bed, so that wouldn't work. I have no problem waiting for release day. Maybe I'll try those keys out again just to be sure...

Found the receipt that had my original pre-order code, which only grants me a one day headstart. I entered that code and I was able to create an account.

Yeah, GameStop was being real stupid on this one. You got the one-day headstart if you pre-ordered, and the three-day if you pre-purchased. I paid my game in full when I made my order, so I should have got a pre-purchase code.
Instead I got a pre-order code, and that's when I sent a bunch of emails asking for a pre-purchase code and they kept sending me codes that were already used (-_-). When I asked the empolyees at the GameStop I PRE-PURCHASED at, they were pretty much like 'duuuuuurrrrr, idk'. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO PLAY THIS WEEKEND! EF YOUUUUUU GAMESTOP!!!!!

I would just go and cancel that order, and do the digital pre-purchase on the guild wars 2 site, make your brother deal with slow net for an afternoon.

Either way, I'll let you know how awesome it is in about 14.5 hours

Meh, I already created my account and and the one-day is already assigned to it. Not sure if I'd be able to add the three-day over the one-day if I were to cancel that order now. I can wait, but I'll be slowly dying inside... knowing that I could (more like should) have been playing it this weekend. Gives me some time to finish Kingdom Hearts 3D. lol
