NBA Finals 2012
.Unless they choke, it looks like the Celtics will finish off the Heat in the Eastern Finals. OKC just bumrushed the Alamo in game 5 and sent the Spurs packing in game 6. We took care of the Mavs in round 1 and the Lakers in round 2. That is about the toughest road to the finals possible. I'm really excited for our young team and think the next series will be electric no matter the opponent. I bet Perkins would love to go against his old squad - he is 30 pounds leaner now.

OKC is going to have an awesome team for years. To have what they have now is pretty incredible.

OKC is very good. Congrats to Oklahoma for going from nothing in the NBA to everything. Guess it was a good business decision (and a little luck) to get that NBA team huh? The state, the owner's group, and Governor smart enough to pull that off deserve kudos. The city of Seattle really blew it when they allowed that team to move. You can always upgrade the players and turn things around.

Yeah, sounds like OKC has it's top couple guys locked up at least for next year so they should be a contender again next year. I'm just glad the Heat aren't going to make the finals, those three can eat a limp ding dong.

So much hate on the Heat. I hope they win. They've been my team since I was tiny.

I have no ill will on the Heat and there big three, but I'm not that impressed either. They can still make it if they play as a team (IMHO Wade needs to assist the other two rather than focus on scoring).

Re: NBA Finals 2012
I don't really dislike the Heat per se, it's that James had to bail on the Cavs rather than try to build a team to win there. I'm not a Cavs fan either (Bulls thru and thru) but I think he kind of copped out by going to Miami.

I am a huge Celtics fan and have always been fond of the Kevin Durant. It would make for a great finals if the Celtics can close out tonight.

Re: NBA Finals 2012
I don't blame Lebron for leaving Cleveland. That's where sports teams go to die, lol.
I have nothing against the Heat but I'm not a big fan of all the hype they get when they have proven nothing. The "experts" were handing them championships before they even took a step on the floor.
Either way I'll be rooting for OKC to win the finals because I've always been a Western Conference guy.

Um...born and raised in the county of Dade.
Shall I say who I'm rooting for?
BTW, Puppet you said LBJ departed Cleveland rather than try to build a team there? Seriously? He was there for years and the only reason they did as well as they did (economically as well as on the court). How much more could he possible do for the team with no help what so ever! That's a management flaw, not the star players fault.

Re: NBA Finals 2012
I have to agree with Klown. LBJ is one of the best players in the league and if the cavs couldn't build around him to help him win a championship then he has all rights to move on. If he stayed in cleveland and never won a title then he would never be considered as one of the games best. If the same happens after moving out of Cleveland then he can say he tried to find a team to help him win the title.

And it makes it nice for Heat fans to have something to look forward to other than "Hopefully Alonzo is healthy this season" lol

Re: NBA Finals 2012
after last night beating the celtics are done. I have a feeling he wont do this to OKC . Lebron tends to struggle against big men, he will over power Durant, Westbrook cant and wont guard him , he'll be on wade. Durant has some long ass arms though. I think OKC Takes it, and if im not mistaken OKC will have home field right?

Re: NBA Finals 2012
As far as Lebron James he is a great talent On the court. I can't say I hate the guy but his attitude is very childish. I think him leaving Cleveland was very childish. The heat are always gonna have that "Dream Team" haunt them every year. Just the Eagles last year one player cough cough Vince Young stated they were gonna be a dream team and look how they turned out. I still have hope Boston will take it in game 7 because Heat will choke again. It seems they can't win the big games.

@Klown - I totally agree. James has nothing to hang his head about for leaving Cleveland. They got plenty out of their #1 draft pick and he does not owe them anything. An athlete sometimes needs a change of scenery to grow. They also need a club preparred to build a competitive team; Cleveland did not offer that. I don't understand people who think he is indebted to Cleveland somehow. I would also like to see more athletes take control of their fate by trying to make deals with teams where they think

If the heat wins out...
Serge Ibaka and Kendric Perkins will be defending the post, but Durant is a crafty defender with his gangly wing span. I would be on Durant to get the better of James in a series. It will be harder to cover him if Bosh is healthy - Serge and Kendric will be busy making him a non factor. Thabo Sefolosha is our defensive specialist and will be tasked with Wade. Westbrook and Derek Fisher should handle Chalmers.
they will be beneficial and can win.

It was sad to see my Celtics loose but I was very pleased by the class the guys like Lebron showed after the game talking with Doc Rivers and some of the other Celtics. Congrats to the Heat and thier fans. I will be rooting for the Thunder and one of my favorite non celtic players Kevin Durant.

While I was really pulling for the Celtics to win, it looks as though the Miami - OKC matchup should be pretty good. I guess since the Bulls are out it doesn't matter to me who plays as long as the series is good.

Re: NBA Finals 2012
I think the series is over on Thursday night. OKC is a d@mn good team but from what I see Miami wants it more. Might be the same match up next year in the finals as I don't see anybody in the East any better than Miami or anybody in the West better than OKC.

Re: NBA Finals 2012
Hardin is blowing it. I have few complaints about Westbrook and Durant; they are leaving it all on the court. Westbrook had a crucial bad dribble, and wasn't aware of the limited clock reset for that jump ball. I would like to see Ibaka get a few more minutes at the expense of Perkins or Hardin. We will see what LeBron's condition is for Thursday - he looks beat up. I think it was a hammy or groin injury. Gotta win from here on, so we will make adjustments or lose.

I will say that Westbrook is a freaking baller man. That guy has a motor that won't stop and he was the only reason they stayed close tonight. The guy was a machine.
