E3 - Microsoft
http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/15/no-new-xbox-talk-at-e3-microsoft-says/
Looks like no new Xbox news at E3. Hopefully they change their mind by then. I was looking forward to at least a design or some specs.

I don't think so. M$ is very happy with the current sales due to Kinect and will be pushing that. Sales have been up for the past 13 months so... No new console info

I'm glad. I've been investing so much cash into games and stuff for this console - I'd like to use it longer before I'm required to buy a new console again - better graphics etc will be cool when it comes but I'm in no hurry cause I'm a cheapskate.

Re: E3 - Microsoft
Im happy no new xbox yet also. My main thing was seeing sales, and like interceptor said kinext has been pushing sales alot. So its smart that they wait a bit maybe next year release for a new xbox.

agreed same with sony they just put out the vita it would not make scene from a company stand point to worry about a new console just yet..
How ever if one company comes out and says they are making one .. i would bet the other company would say there making one was well.(this wont happen soon)

Re: E3 - Microsoft
New boxes have probably been in development for years, they are just not ready to release information yet.
Re: E3 - Microsoft
I wouldn't be surprised if they already have the main components put together and "starter" parts for CPU, mem, HDD, etc that if they needed to release the boxes this year they could. They've probably got them set so they can milk the Kinect and Vita until either MS or Sony decide to drop their box. It wouldn't be too hard to then upgrade the CPU, mem, HDD to the most current stuff, give it like a 6-12mo date for release and be good to go.
Both companies have game studios that probably have teams waiting for the new specs and will be able to put together a couple games for release date and then every other studio will just have to play catch-up. Besides, I wouldn't be surprised if most major studios are designing their franchise games assuming that in the next year or two they'll have new specs to design for and I wouldn't be surprised if they're coding their games in a way that will make it easier to adjust the game code if there's a new box released while they're coding their games.
I'm just talking here, but I think both of those statements just seem like good business.
