Memorial Day
With memorial day weekend approaching I have posted up a new banner early. I can never say this enough times in my life, Thank you to those who have served our country and to those in the service now. It means more to me than I could ever say. Take some time this coming weekend to remeber those who have fallen and respect those who have put there lives on the line. Honor all of our Veterans and their families for the time and commitment they have given to our country. Think about the People in this clan now who are out there today training to learn more skills to better our country. Guys like Tico, and Airbourne who are putting their self through some real sh1tty tough training to be able to fly choppers. All of you guys who have been through stuff like that to better your training to better be prepared to stand up for our country.
Thank You.

Re: Memorial Day
Very Nice and well said OC. I have a couple benefit shows I'll be doing this weekend for our Veterans and Families. Monday I'll go by my Step-fathers grave and show my respects for him. You all probably remember when he passed away.
Thanks to all who serve...past and present

Re: Memorial Day
As a veteran, I'd also like to say thanks to everyone who is actively serving our country and those who came before me. My old unit just got back from Afghanistan. Seeing what they were going through made me want to be back with them, but now they are protecting the life I've made here.
Also something that I feel needs to be said is a big thank you for all the people who show support for the troops. I'm extremely grateful for all of the care packages and letters I got from random people around the country during my deployment. It's heartwarming to know that people care so much.

Thank you to the men & women serving now and those that have given their time, lives, or good health to defending our nation.
I can't help but think about Nate right now. I hope he is doing well and surviving the hell he must be prepared for. Just remember, when you're drinking beers this weekend, he is probably eating bugs to survive. I will toast to you, Tico.

Re: Memorial Day
Today, I think about those serving in our armed forces, as I do everyday, and remember the sacrifices they and their families endure in the name of selfless service. I think about those who I particularly know - a 4-star general commanding forces in Iraq who is my West Point classmate and friend for 35 years; COLs, LTCs and Chief Warrants who I watched grow and mentored when they were junior officers; and senior NCOs who I fondly knew as young privates and specialists serving under me - hoping that those who are in the box now will return safely. I remember my recent ride through Fort Myer as I past rows upon rows of flag adorned graves in Arlington Cemetery and reflect upon those who served and sacrificed before. All of this more poignant today, not just because it is a holiday devoted to remembering, but because the flags, war movie reruns, ceremonies and the sights and sounds of "rolling thunder" on the highway remind one ... you may leave the service but the service never leaves you. Lest we forget those who have served and are serving ... thank you.
